Marymac Design is owned and operated by Mary McMurrer, a surface pattern designer based in Iowa City, Iowa. McMurrer has decades of experience working with textiles in various forms, including batik, felting, quilting, and weaving, all of which inform and inspire her unique approach to surface pattern design. She earned her MFA in Printmaking at the University of Iowa where she demonstrated an affinity for block printing.

Mary draws inspiration from the natural world, finding inspiration in seed pods, snow patterns, clouds, and other natural materials. Found objects and man made textures also influence her designs. Florals comprise a large portion of her portfolio. She is open to sales, licensing, and collaborations.
